Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey south to the English Riviera and our hotel in Babbacombe with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a warm welcome while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday
Today we enjoy a free day at the hotel, relax and unwind and enjoy the views. Explore the village, in 1846, Queen Victoria wrote: 'It's a beautiful spot... red cliffs and rocks with wooded hills like Italy and reminding one of a ballet or play where nymphs appear - such rocks and grottoes, with the deepest sea on which there was no ripple.' Over 150 years later, it still feels the same as you stand and look across the beautiful bay. Perhaps take one of the scenic coastal walks or stroll the delightful gardens at Babbacombe Downs which have attained the prestigious Green Flag award.
Wednesday
Today we visit nearby Torquay, a vibrant Devon seaside resort with scenic harbours, sandy beaches and lots of seaside attractions, with a great foodie and shopping scene there's something here for everyone. Today there is an optional visit to the theatre, price not included in the cost of your holiday.
Thursday
Following a leisurely start join the coach at 11.00hrs as we head around the coast to Brixham. This beautiful, colourful South Devon harbour fishing town offers its visitor historic sites and scenic coastal views with some of the best seafood in the area.
Friday
Today we leave the coast to journey into the heart of Devon. Travel through stunning mid-Devon scenery to visit the historic town of Tiverton on market day. Tiverton Pannier Market is in the centre of the historic town of Tiverton, originally the site of a Roman encampment. Markets have been held here for centuries, the town continues this proud tradition with a wide selection of high-quality produce, all sourced locally. Perhaps visit the Tiverton Museum of Mid-Devon Life, choose from cosy cafes to vibrant restaurants where you can obtain a delicious lunch, discover and explore Tiverton's wealth of independent shops.
Saturday
Today we journey along the English Riviera to Sidmouth, step back in time at this lovely town with a royal connection. A lovely hidden gem along on the Jurassic Coast.
Sunday
Following a leisurely start visit Torquay with time to explore and obtain lunch, at 14.00hrs return to the hotel for time at leisure.
Monday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
